There's an energy system, but it's not too annoying, and a base-building element which involves capturing minions to protect your gold. Then you go and press the hit button some more and come back and smoosh more gear together. Most of the tat you earn you'll use to augment the gear you've already got, smooshing them together using spells and cash to make slightly sharper swords or more armour-y armour.

You can also press some little buttons to fire spells or use potions.Īll the buttons are fine, the joystick is fine, and it's very nice when you kill things because you level up and earn some extra bits of armour and weaponry. Then you stomp around some very nice looking dungeons pushing the big hit button in the bottom right to hit things. You start the game by picking a character class, although there doesn't appear to be any restriction on what weapons or armour you can equip, so you're really just choosing a jumper and a body size. On an App Store full of equal parts innovation and gouging, Dungeon Hunter 5 sits in the middle, wandering around its sparkly levels being generally fine. It's all shiny and pretty and you press some buttons and monsters turn into streaks of blood.Īnd then you'll meet creatures that are a bit too strong for you to mangle so you'll have to mash together equipment or spend some gems and, really, that's all fine as well.
